How to replace the Brake Light Switch on 2002 Chevrolet Malibu?

To change the stop lamp switch, first pull off the driver side sound insulator and disconnect the electrical connection. The next step is to pull on the brake switch and rotate it 90 degrees counterclockwise till it becomes loose and can be pulled towards the rear of the vehicle until it is removed. For installation, insert the stop lamp switch into the retainer until the switch body is seated and pulls the Brake Pedal upward against internal pedal stop. Be sure to turn the switch 90 degrees to lock it into place, hook the electrical connector back to the its opertaion place, turn the stop lamp switch , and cap of with first replacing the drivers side sound insulator.
