  A: End users should commence Fuel Level Sensor maintenance through the elimination of the fuel sender assembly from the system. Detach the Fuel Pump electrical retaining clip which rests at the top of the assembly before cutting the Fuel Pump and Fuel Level Sensor electrical connector loose. The 3 tabs should be depressed to release the upper fuel reservoir before sliding it up and free from attachment to the lower reservoir. The tab on the Fuel Level Sensor must be depressed while simultaneously sliding it up and out of its housing. Remove the electrical connector retaining clip and disconnect the Fuel Level Sensor wires with note of their order in the installation. Insert the Fuel Level Sensor into the lower housing through its slots before putting the upper reservoir into the lower reservoir with successful tab locking.
