    Q:
How to replace the Fuel Level Sensor assembly on Chevrolet Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
Your replacement of the Fuel Level Sensor assembly starts by collecting the required tools which include the Fuel Level Sensor lock nut wrench (J 39765). Start by disassembling the Fuel Tank while disconnecting the wiring harness both from the Fuel Level Sensor and the Fuel Tank pressure (FTP) sensor. The Fuel Level Sensor lock nut wrench (J 39765) allows users to depress the retaining ring while rotating it. Pay attention because the modular Fuel Level Sensor assembly will rise up and position the reservoir bucket at a slight angle when removing it while disposing of reservoir fuel into an approved container. Remove the sensor for the fuel level after you remove the entire Fuel Level Sensor assembly. To install the sensor you must attach it to the assembly while using a new Fuel Tank seal and position pipes in line with Fuel Tank marks. Use the j 39765 Fuel Level Sensor lock nut wrench to drive the spring-loaded sensor until its top aligns perfectly flat with the retaining ring of the tank before inserting the retaining ring. Ensure the ring sits completely inside the tab slots when detachable ring is positioned correctly. To complete the procedure reconnect the wiring harness which is attached to the Fuel Level Sensor and ftp sensor before reattaching the Fuel Tank.
