  A: The first step to replace the fuel gauge sender requires users to take out the Fuel Level Sensor assembly and remove the Fuel Pump electrical retaining clip at the assembly top. You must first disconnect the Fuel Pump and fuel gauge sender electrical connector before pushing the tabs holding the upper reservoir down while lifting until separation from the bottom reservoir is achieved. Depress the tab on the fuel gauge sender while sliding it up and out of the housing and then remove the retaining clip from the electrical connector to take out the fuel gauge sender wires which you should note their locations. To install the wires properly they must follow underneath the fuel gauge sender where the tab must lock securely. Place the fuel gauge sender down the housing slots within the lower reservoir before sliding in the upper reservoir until all tabs lock into position.
