How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 2 on 2001 Chevrolet Malibu?

The Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 2 requires replacement by starting with turning off the ignition and lifting up the vehicle first. Disconnect the sensor electrical connector. A unique anti-seize compound consisting of fluid and glass beads holding graphite suspension is specifically used on heated oxygen sensor threads to enhance removal. Before restoring an evacuated sensor the threads should receive an anti-seize compound application. Use the Oxygen Sensor Socket (J 39194-B) to slowly remove the heated oxygen sensor in a backward direction. Apply anti-seize compound P/N 5613695 or equivalent to heated oxygen sensor/catalyst monitor threads before installation. Tighten the heated oxygen sensor to 42 N.m (31 lb ft) using the Oxygen Sensor Socket (J 39194-B). After sensor electrical connector reinstall close the vehicle.
