How to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor (24X) on 2001 Chevrolet Malibu?

To replace the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor (24X), turn off ignition and raise the vehicle with a hoist first. Index the crankshaft Harmonic Balancer and make a note of the sensor harness routing before the removal. Next, note that you need to remove the harness retaining clip with bolt, disconnect the sensor electrical connector, and remove the sensor bolts in order to remove the sensor. For installation, mount the 24x Crankshaft Position Sensor with the bolts and harness as mentioned in removal. Mount the harness retaining clip with bolt and tighten the ckp sensor bolts to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Connect the sensor ei connector, reinstall the balancer on the crankshaft, lower the vehicle, ckp system variation learn procedure.
