  A: It is necessary to disable the SIR system to replace the Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor. Take off left door trim, water deflector as required, and extract the inner energy absorber pad. Remove the outer energy absorber pad top clip using soften force and evolve the pad. Take out the fasteners of the inflatable sensor and pull out the discriminating sensor from behind the mounting bracket of the door impact beam. Pull the rolling pin connector connector that activates the inflatable restraint side impact sensor from the door. During installation, place the inflatable restraint side impact sensor to the mounting bracket and attach the yellow 2-way harness connector to it. Install the fasteners for the inflatable restraint side impact sensor and tighten the fasteners by hand only to 10 N.m (89 lb in). The outer energy absorber pad should be pressed toward the outer door panel secured with the clip followed by the installation of the inner energy absorber pad, if required the water deflector should be installed which is followed by the left door trim panel. Enable the SIR system afterward.
