2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Replace a Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?
A: You should elevate and stabilize the vehicle before starting the Vehicle Speed Sensor replacement process. The process begins with tire and wheel removal from the right front position before the disconnection of the vehicle speed sensor wiring harness connector. Start by removing the vehicle speed sensor bolt from the extension case then extract the vehicle speed sensor from its position while removing its accompanying O-ring from the sensor. Start by placing the O-ring onto the vehicle speed sensor and then reinstall the sensor within the extension case. Apply 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.) of torque force when installing the vehicle speed sensor bolt. First put back the vehicle speed sensor wiring harness connector after which you should reinstall the right front wheel and tire and finally drop the vehicle back to the ground.
