A: You must remove the A/C Compressor before changing the Power Steering Pump of your vehicle. Before hose detachment clean the pump housing thoroughly while you set down a drain pan to collect fluid runoff. First detach the Power Steering Reservoir and its attached outlet hose before disconnecting the pump fittings which lead to the power steering gear inlet hose . Begin by disconnecting the Power Steering Pressure Switch connector after removing the 2 gaskets and inlet hose followed by taking off the Power Steering Pump Drive Belt. The next step includes removing the Power Steering Pump by first removing the two securing bolts. Install the Power Steering Pump in its proper position and lock it with the two bolts which should be tightened up to 25 nm (18.5 ft. Lbs.). Reinstall the power steering gear inlet hose with both gaskets followed by the fitting which needs to be secured at 60 nm (43.5 ft. Lbs.). Install the power steering fluid reservoir followed by the outlet hose and clamp the hose to the pump. Back in position and secure both the A/C Compressor and Power Steering Pump Drive Belt after appropriate adjustments. Pour power steering fluid into the reservoir while performing power steering system bleeding to clear it from air pockets.
