  A: The replacement of heater cores starts with draining the cooling system. Loosen the left wiper arm linkage nuts before repositioning the linkage to work on it. You should disconnect the Brake Booster vacuum hose then locate it elsewhere. After disconnecting the throttle and cruise control cables uncoil their housings you should remove the air cleaner cover and intake tube. Start by disconnecting throttle and cruise control cables which are attached to the tbi mounting bracket before removing the transmission fluid filler tube. The hose clamp pliers (J 38185) are used to disconnect both heater hose clamps before removing the heater hoses.
