    A: To service and repair Distributor starts by removing the engine cover. Label the Distributor components, namely the driven gear, Distributor shaft, and rotor holes, to facilitate correct reassembly because incorrect installation may result in a no-start situation and possible engine damage. Center the bottom white paint mark on the stem of the Distributor with the pre-drilled indent hole in the bottom of the gear. Make sure that the rotor segment is correctly placed for a v6 engine; if not, replace the Distributor. Remove the two screws from the rotor and remove the rotor remember concerning the locating holes for the rotor screw holes and rotor locator holes . Adjust the square-cut hole of the vane wheel to align with the cmp sensor, and then unscrew the two screws holding the cmp sensor and discard them. Pay attention to the dimple of one side of the gear beneath the roll pin hole to ensure correct orientation at reassembly. Subsequently support the Distributor drive gear in a v-block or similar fixture drive out roll pin with suitable punch to remove the drived gear from the Distributor shaft, then drive out off the round washer, tang washer, shim washer, and old oil seal. For assembling, line up the square-cut hole located in the vane wheel in the cmp sensor and guide the sensor into the housing. Mount two new screws for cmp sensor using turn the screw to 2.2 n.m (19 lb in). Locate the appropriate mounting position of the rotor at the rotor screw holes and rotor locator pin holes, place the Distributor rotor in accordance with the index marks fasten with two rotor hold down screws to 1.9 n.m (17 lb in). Put the shim washer onto the bottom of the Distributor shaft, tang washer onto it and round washer. Mount the driven gear as indicated by the index marks and align the rotor segment as indicated for a v6 engine or v8 engine and confirm that the bottom white paint mark on the bottom stem of the distribution aligns with the pre-drilled indent hole located on the bottom of the gear. Look for proper installation of the driven gear and make sure the dimple is not 180 degrees from the rotor segment. Support the Distributor drive gear in a v-lock or any other fixture where after, install the roll pin using an appropriate punch with hammer for immobilization of the driven gear. Lastly, fit the new oil seal to the top side of the distributing base mounting flange, and tighten the Distributor in, and fit back the engine cover.
