To change the Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor (24X) start by elevating and stabilizing the vehicle and removing both the lower air deflector and the crankshaft balancer. Release the CKP sensor electrical connector yet remember how the sensor harness runs before you take it out. Beginning with bolt retention clamp removal you should remove the CKP sensor along with its mounting bolts. Secure the 24X crankshaft position sensor to the front cover by using the CKP sensor bolts that need to be tightened to 10 N.m (89 lb in). After inserting the harness retaining clip and bolt place the bolt at 10 N.m (89 lb in). The CKP sensor electrical connector connection must occur before attaching the harness to its bracket. Then reinstall the crankshaft balancer together with the lower air deflector.
