After removing the shock dampener from the inner Tie Rod assembly you must slide it back onto the rack . Place the inner Tie Rod assembly into a vise and stake both sides of the female inner Tie Rod assembly housing to the male rack when working with male rack and female inner Tie Rod configurations. A 0.25 mm gauge should be placed between the rack and inner Tie Rod housing while checking that the gauge will not fit between the stake.
