How to replace the inner tie rod of the rack and pinion off on Buick LeSabre?

Start by removing the Rack and Pinion Boot and breather tube before continuing with inner Tie Rod replacement of a Rack And Pinion system on the vehicle. During inner Tie Rod mounting and unmounting processes you should always support the rack with your hands so it stays safe and undamaged. The first step involves taking out the shock dampener installed on the inner Tie Rod assembly which can be repositioned onto its place on the rack. The rack assembly requires both wrenches to separate the inner Tie Rod housing from the rack assembly by rotating counterclockwise after securing wrenches on their flat surfaces. Insert the shock dampener onto the rack while securing the inner Tie Rod to 100 nm (74 ft. Lbs.) torque. To join the inner Tie Rod with the rack you should position a wrench on the rack's flats and a torque wrench on the inner Tie Rod housing flats. Fix the inner Tie Rod assembly inside a vise for steadying purposes so you can stake both housing flats to the rack's surface. Insert a 0.25 mm gauge between the rack and housing stake to confirm both stakes pass inspection before allowing the feeler gauge through the gap. The shock dampener should now slide over the inner Tie Rod housing allowing the front lip of the dampener to rest against the housing before adding the Rack and Pinion Boot and breather tube.
