• Q: How to service the PG260 F1 starter motor on 2003 Buick Rendezvous?

  A: As a step towards servicing the pg260 f1 Starter motor, the battery ground cable (negative) should be disconnected from the battery to prevent the generator's rotor from rotating freely. Stand the vehicle and take out the radiator air baffle assembly. Then, remove the bat Starter motor nut and electrical leads, followed by the s-terminal nut and lead. Before you pull off the Starter motor, remove the torque coverer as well as the Starter motor bolts. For installation, start by repositioning the Starter motor and securing it with the Starter motor bolts and tightening of bolts to 47 n.m (35 lb ft). Replace the torque converter cover; then, connect the Starter motor s terminal electrical lead and nut, and tighten the solenoid s terminal nut to 3 n.m (27 lb in). Move to the Starter bat terminal electrical leads, connect them then tighten the Starter bat terminal nut to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Lastly, re-install the radiator air. Baffle assembly, drop the vehicle, and re-connect the battery ground(Negative) cable to the battery.
