2003 Buick Rendezvous Battery Cable Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the negative battery cable on 2003 Buick Rendezvous?
A: The replacement process for the battery negative cable requires you to begin by taking off both the battery ground (negative) cable from the battery followed by the battery ground (negative) cable bolt from the core support. First elevate the vehicle then remove the lower radiator baffle and battery cable conduit from its retainers before taking out the battery cable from the conduit. Start by unfastening the transaxle stud battery ground (negative) cable and nut and cable before bringing down the vehicle to detach the battery ground (negative) cable. Installation should start with battery ground (negative) cable attachment to the vehicle while performing another vehicle lift. Tighten the nut on the transaxle stud which holds the negative battery cable at 25 N.m (18 lb ft). Nun install the battery cable to the conduit and then install the battery cable conduit to the conduit retainer before installing the lower radiator baffle. Attach the battery ground cable to the inner fender by screwing the bolt to 5 N.m torque. Secure the battery ground (negative) cable to its terminal afterward.
