2003 Cadillac CTS Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Expansion Valve on 2003 Cadillac CTS?
A: The first step for txv replacement involves using the j 39400-a halogen leak detector to verify leak-free conditions. Start the procedure with removing the i/p retainer before taking off the insulation from the txv. As part of the procedure follow these steps: take out the hvac line clamp screw and follow it with the hvac line clamp. Uninstall the txv to Evaporator bolts before removing the txv line bracket to extract the txv directly from both Evaporator core and a/c lines with gentle force. Begin by lubricating all o-rings then put the txv inside the Evaporator core by sliding the a/c lines until complete seat engagement. Attach the txv line bracket followed by screwing in the txv to Evaporator bolts at 3.5 n.m (31 lb in). Secure the hvac line clamp using its screw and tighten it to 1 n.m (8 lb in). Seam the insulation onto the lines and txv after you replace the i/p retainer.
