A mechanic should begin egr pipe replacement by detaching the bolt which connects to the water crossover housing. Before proceeding raise the vehicle for support. The first step is to disconnect the egr valve pipe from the Exhaust Manifold by turning off the egr pipe nut. The egr pipe should be installed while tightening the egr pipe nut to 60 n.m (44 lb ft). Lower the vehicle while installing the bolt at the water crossover housing and tighten to 24 n.m (18 lb ft).
