How to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2003 Chevrolet Astro?

In order to eliminate the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor, the vehicle must be lifted up. If the underbody shield package is equipped, undo the steering linkage shield mounting bolts, and then steering linkage shield. You must disconnect ckp sensor harness connector, remove ckp sensor mounting bolt, and also extract ckp sensor. Before tightening the mounting bolt of the new ckp sensor, ensure that it is correctly seated to prevent erratic performance and false dtc. Replace ckp sensor o-ring with new one, lubricate it using clean engine oil install ckp sensor making sure that mounting surface is clean and burr free. Use a socket wrench to tighten the ckp sensor to the mounting bolt 9 n.m (80 lb in) and reconnect the ckp sensor harness connector. Fit and tighten the steering linkage shield and mount it using bolts of 33 n.m (24 lb ft). Lastly, bring down the vehicle and execute the ckp system variation learn procedure.
