In order to install the lock cylinder in the rear compartment lid of the Impala, you have to take away the rear compartment lid applique. Drill the rivets holding the lock cylinder, and remove it together with the gasket. Lay the cylinder of the lock so that it fits into the latch, press it using the rivets and refix the applique.
