How to replace the Trunk Lock Cylinder in the rear compartment lid on 2004 Chevrolet Impala?

Begin the replacement process by taking off the rear compartment lid applique of the impala. Use a drill to remove the 2 rivets fastening the lock cylinder to the rear compartment. After that, detach the lock cylinder and gasket in the rear compartment lid. Place the shaft of the lock cylinder into the rear compartment lid latch before putting the lock cylinder and its gasket through the lid holes. Press them down until they are completely fixed in place. Press in the lock cylinder and gasket onto the lid before fastening them with 2 rivets. Finally, replace the rear compartment lid applique.
