How to replace the rear door window regulator on 2004 Chevrolet Impala?

You need to start the Impala rear door regulator repair by placing the front window with a 6.3 mm (1/4 in) space at the top then taping it to the frame. Start by removing the rear door trim panel together with the rear door water deflector. Start by disconnecting both the rear window from its regulator carrier plate and unplugging the electrical connector from the motor of the regulator. Release the bolts from the rear window regulator motor and rail before extracting the regulator by lifting it through the key slots of the rear door inner panel and the rear access hole. Place rear window regulator bolts halfway into motor and rail components before you start to feed the rail and motor through the rear access hole. Connect the rear window regulator by placing it into position in its key slot areas while torquing both the rear window regulator motor and rail bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in). After removing tape from the rear window positioning it to the rear window regulator carrier plate before you attach the rear window to the carrier plate and join the electrical connector to the rear window regulator motor. Install both the rear door water deflector and the rear door trim panel as the last step.
