  A: Before you put on the back lid nameplate cover you need to shield the bottom surface and pencil installation points. You can safely take out the Emblem/nameplate with a plastic tool when heated. Body panels need the 3m(TM) scotch brite molding adhesive remover disk (parts number 07501) for removal while plastic panels require a lint-free cloth with vmp naptha or isopropyl alcohol and water mixture in equal parts for cleaning. Wipe the installation region with the same cloth and wiping liquid before complete drying. If the Emblem/nameplate location is unmarked, apply tape and use specified dimensions for proper placement: for the chevy bow tie Emblem, center it on the rear compartment lid with dimension (A) at 192 mm (7.560 in) from the bottom; for the v6 Emblem, place it with dimension (a) at 20 mm (0.780 in) from the left edge and dimension (b) at 27 mm (1.062 in) from the tail lamp; for the malibu ls Emblem, position it with dimension (a) at 38 mm (1.500 in) from the left edge, dimension (b) at 17 mm (0.670 in) between the malibu and ls emblems, and dimension (c) at 29 mm (1.141 in) from the tail lamp.
