How to replace the rear trunk latch on 2003 Chevrolet SSR?

Open the rear compartment lid and lower the endgate before working on the replacement procedure. Erase the location of the rear compartment latch before lifting the liner to reach and remove it. Take off tension from the latch cable while detaching the rear compartment lid latch electrical connector when available. Unfasten the latch retainers and remove the latch by sliding it away from the automobile while disconnecting the release cable. The new latch assembly needs its electrical connector placed into the body opening followed by connecting the release cable and placing it on the marked position on the vehicle. Secure the fasteners at 10 n.m force and join the electrical connector for electrical functionality. Move the latch wire until the right position then put the rear cluster back into its place before sealing both parts.
