    A: To service and repair the Axle Shaft assembly more precisely the wheel drive shaft inner joint and seal replacement, following tools are used: swage clamp tool (J41048), drive axle seal clamp plier (J35566), snap ring pliers (J8059). Start by the removal of the clamp from the boot using side cutters, without damaging the tripot housing. Cut through the swage ring using a hand grinder before removing tripot housing and trilobal tripot bushing from halfshaft bar. Degrease the housing and spider assembly completely and throw away the tripot bushing. Use 320 grit 3m cloth to remove any corrosion off the transmission sealing surface and let the housing and spider assembly dry, being careful with tripot spider assembly to not let the tripot balls and needle rollers separate. Compress the tripot boot onto the halfshaft bar, these, the use of j8059 to spread spacer rings for spider assembly removal. Remove the tripot boot and spacer rings, clean the halfshaft bar using a wire brush, and check the needle rollers, needle bearings, and trunnion for any damages. Repair with the replacement of the damaged parts using the right kit. For assembly position the new swage clamp not swaged onto the boot neck and slide new small swage clamp and boot to correct position on the halfshaft bar. Make sure that the boot neck fits into the groove on the halfshaft bar and then swage the clamp with the help of j41048 making it fit perfectly. Snug the bolts with your hands and then align the boot, halfshaft bar, and swage clamp, make sure you finger tighten each bolt for 180 degrees before using a ratchet wrench. Loosen the bolts and remove die while still re-swaging the clamp in case the deformities exist. Verify any "lip" deformations of swages clamp and mount the join with the convolute retainer in the proper location in which it can grip four convolutions. The spacer ring and spider assembly must be installed on the half shaft bar followed by the other spacer ring into the groove at its end of the half shaft bar complete all spacer rings are seated into place. Pack the boot and housing with the pre-measured grease from the kit and place the large retaining clamp on the boot, position the housing and a new trilobal tripot bushing over the spider assemble. Mount the boot onto the trilobal tripot bushing, hold the inboard stroke position for the male tripot housing assembly (dimension a = 280 mm) or female tripot housing assembly (dimension b = 228 mm), hold the large retaining clamp and boot onto the housing using j35566, then take off the convolute retainer from the boot.
