2003 GMC Envoy Shock Absorber Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to Replace a Shock Absorber Safely on 2003 GMC Envoy?
A: First replace the Shock Absorber by lifting the vehicle then supporting the rear axle to prevent harm to both the upper Control Arm alongside air suspension elements. The Shock Absorber requires removal from the vehicle after support of the rear axle and subsequent removal of both mounting bolts. Place the new Shock Absorber in position before installing and tightening the lower mounting bolt to 80 nm (59 ft. Lbs.) and afterward tightening the upper mounting bolt to 80 nm (59 ft. Lbs.). The removal of support from the rear axle requires checking the correct placement of the air suspension leveling sensor link to protect the air suspension system from failure. The installation process ends with support removal from the rear axle before lowering the vehicle down.
