How to service and repair the Automatic Transmission Filter for the 4L80-E/4L85-E on 2003 GMC Savana 2500?

In order to service the Automatic Transmission Fluid/Filter of the 4L80-E/4L85-E, raise the vehicle and position drain pan beneath the transmission. Unscrew the oil pan, the gasket, the magnet, the oil filter and the filter neck seal. Wipe down the surfaces and replace parts and fill up the transmission using Dexron III fluid.
