• Q: How to replace the throttle body assembly on 2004 Buick Century?

  A: When intending to replace the Throttle Body assembly, partially drain the cooling system to start with. Take off the air cleaner intake duct, and then remove the idle air control (IAC) electrical connector, and the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector. After that, uninstall the accelerator control cable bracket, Throttle Body inlet and outlet hoses. Remove the heater pipe nut from the method of Throttle Body, then remove nuts and bolts supporting the Throttle Body assembly and the assembly itself with the Throttle Body Gasket. Clean and inspect the mating surface of the Throttle Body Gasket without having any solvent that could damage the surfaces of the gasket. For installation (in case necessary), pass a new gasket and start the Throttle Body assembly, bolting it down using the nuts and bolts attached to the place with 28 n.m (21 lb ft) torque. The Throttle Body inlet and outlet hoses are to be reattached, with the heater pipe nut tightened to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Connect the iac valve electrical connector and the tp sensor electrical connector and refit the accelerator control cable bracket and air cleaner intake duct. Finally, fill the cooling system.
