2004 Buick LeSabre Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Coolant Temperature Sensor on 2004 Buick LeSabre?
A: First, shut off the ignition, then drain the coolant so it's below the level of the ECT sensor. Take off the ECT sensor connector and then remove the sensor in a gentle manner. Put some GM P/N 9985253 sealer or a similar substitute on the threads before you install the ECT sensor and tighten it to 20 N.m (15 lb ft). Match the ECT harness connector to the ECT sensor, and afterward, fill the cooling system. Make sure the new parts are correct for your vehicle, and tighten them according to the specified torque value to protect them.
