Vehicle elevation followed by support must be performed before beginning the replacement of the Exhaust Manifold pipe. The Exhaust Manifold pipe requires removal of four retaining nuts that attach the Catalytic Converter. Position the exhaust system in a sufficient rearward position for the front studs on the Catalytic Converter to pass through the Exhaust Manifold pipe. The removal of the Catalytic Converter's gasket needs proper attention because it should never be put back in place. The Exhaust Manifold pipe requires two nut removal before extraction together with its gasket and no gasket reuse is necessary. To install the Exhaust Manifold pipe use a new Exhaust Manifold pipe gasket by placing it over right Exhaust Manifold studs and aligning the pipe with the Exhaust Manifold. The right Exhaust Manifold gets its retention from two nuts which should be tightened to 40 nm (30 ft. Lbs.). Store a new Catalytic Converter Gasket on the Catalytic Converter studs while you maintain the position between Exhaust Manifold pipe. Reposition the Catalytic Converter to the Exhaust Manifold pipe after placing its four nuts securely in position and tightening them to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Then return the vehicle to the floor.
