Before starting the replacement of the Exhaust Manifold pipe ensure the exhaust system has cooled down and protect your hands and eyes from rust and edges with goggles and gloves. First raise the vehicle into position with proper support. The four nuts securing the Catalytic Converter to the Exhaust Manifold pipe require removal by following the six-degree limit for decoupler joint movement. Securely move the exhaust system against its rearward position until the studs on the Catalytic Converter front section clear the Exhaust Manifold pipe. Remove both the Catalytic Converter Gasket and discard it. Start by removing two nuts securing the Exhaust Manifold pipe to the right Exhaust Manifold and proceed with removing the Exhaust Manifold pipe along with its accompanying gasket that needs discarding. You must install a new Exhaust Manifold pipe gasket on the right Exhaust Manifold studs before placing the Exhaust Manifold pipe into position. Apply appropriate fasteners to their designated spots while keeping away paints and all lubricants and corrosion inhibitors that would interfere with torque forces and clamping pressure.
