2004 Buick LeSabre Tie Rod End Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the outer tie rod end on 2004 Buick LeSabre?
A: The replacement of an outer Tie Rod End starts with vehicle lift and wheel support followed by removing the tire. Start by taking off the lock nut from the outer tie rod before unscrewing the jam nut located on the inner tie rod. The universal steering linkage puller (J24319-B) enables tie rod removal from the Steering Knuckle and then separates the outer tie rod from the inner tie rod . To build the unit attach the outer Tie Rod End to the inner Tie Rod End without casing the jam nut before it joins the outer Tie Rod End with the Steering Knuckle. Fasten the outer tie rod lock nut correctly and use torque settings of 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs) plus an 180-degree turn. The final step is to reinstall the tire and wheel followed by vehicle lowering then the toe adjustment procedure.
