  A: If you need to replace the inflatable restraint side, impact sensor (SIS); it is more preferred to first disable SIR for security reasons. Do not strike or jolt the SIS, and ensure it is well secured before applying power to avoid deployment or injury. The procedure to remove both passenger and driver SIS is the same: move the seat fully forward, then remove the centre pillar trim panel. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) from the SIS harness connector , and remove the SIS harness connector from the SIS . Then, pull off the SIS mounting fasteners and pull out the SIS from the center pillar sheet metal. For installation, the mounting surface must be cleaned of contaminants prior to the installation of the SIS on to the center pillar sheet metal and fix it in the mounting fasteners, after tightening it with the screw to 9 N.m (80 lb in). Reconnect the SIS harness connector back to the SIS & install the CPA onto the harness connector . Finally, reinstall the center pillar trim, return seat to its original position, and enable SIR system.
