    A: To replace the inflatable restraint side impact sensor (818), you need to first disable the SIR system. Pull the front door trim panel and peel rear half of water deflector from door in order to reach both front impact sensors. Take out the screws that hold the side impact sensor onto the door and then detach the impact sensor electrical connector from the side impact sensor. Remove the side impact sensor from the door. When installing, clean the mounting surface from dirt, grease or impurities, to position the side impact sensor horizontally meeting to the door and to connect the electrical connector to the side impact sensor . Screw the screws to retain the side impact sensor to the door with a torque of 8 N.m (71 lb in). Completely seat the water deflector to the door, reinstall the door trim panel, and activate the SIR system.
