How to replace the Air Bag Sensor for Side Impact on GMC Envoy? Posted by Customer
    A:
To change the Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor, disable the SIR system. Take off the front door trim panel and peel off the rear half of the water deflector from the door to reveal the side impact sensor. Without replacing the screws that hold the side impact sensor to door and remove the side impact sensor electrical connector from side impact sensor. After the side impact sensor is taken out of the door, place the new side impact sensor and plug the electrical connector on it 1. Replace the screws and screw it in doing so as to retain the side impact sensor to the door 1 tightening it to 8N.m (71 lb in). Hydrate your water deflector all the way to your door, along with re-installing your door trim panel, and finally, turning on the SIR system.

    Q:
How to service and repair the Air Bag Sensor Front End Discriminating SEN on GMC Envoy? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin repairs on the inflatable restraint front end discriminating sen by disabling the sir system first. To access the front end discriminating sensor vehicle owners must first remove the grille then detach the headlamp wire harness from its retaining clip before raising it for sensor inspection. You should release the bolts which secure the sensor to the frame and then extract the sensor assembly. Start by placing the sensor assembly in position above the front Bumper. After that extract the retaining bolts and protective cover from the sensor. The connector position assurance (CPA) and sensor electrical connector need to be liberated before extracting the sensor out of the vehicle. Installation begins by placing the sensor assembly above the front Bumper then connecting the electrical connector before placing the cpa onto the electrical connector. Install the retaining bolts and protective cover to the sensor before placing the sensor assembly against the frame. Fasten the 2 bolts with 8 n.m torque (71 lb in). Once the retaining clip is secure, install the grille by repositioning the headlamp wire harness. Finally, enable the sir system.

    Q:
How to replace the Air Bag Sensor in the Front End on Chevrolet Trailblazer? Posted by Customer
    A:
To change the inflatable restraint front end sensor, first, sir needs to be disabled. Do not strike and do not flex the sensor and fasten it securely before applying power to stop sir from deploying or causing personal injury. Start by disconnecting the grille as well as the headlamp wire harness from the retaining clip , and then lift and support the harness for access to the front end sensor. Undue the bolts securing the sensor to the frame and your sensor assembly will come off. Raise the sensor assembly over the front Bumper and pull out the retaining bolts and cover for the sensor. Before you can remove the sensor from the vehicle, you must disconnect the connector-position assurance (CPA) and the sensor electrical connector. For installation, clean the mounting surface and put the sensor assembly horizontally above the front Bumper, and then connect the sensor electrical connector. Mount the cpa to the connector of the sensor, then secure the retaining bolts and covering. Make sure that the sensor assembly is aligned horizontally and in parallel to the frame and the arrow on the sensor unit is directed towards the front of the vehicle. Fasten the sensor assembly to the 2 bolts and tighten the bolts to 8 n.m (71 lb in). Reposition back the headlamp wire harness to the retaining clip and tie down; reinstall grille and activate the sir system.
