How to replace the side impact Air Bag Sensor on 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

To replace the side impact sensor, first, the SIR system needs to be disabled. Take off the front door trim panel and peel the rear half of the water deflector from the door to expose the side impact sensor. Remove the screws that help secure the side impact sensor to the door and remove the impact sensor electrical connector from the side impact sensor. After unsoldering the side impact sensor put it away and solder the electrical connector to the new side impact sensor. Drawer the lines for new connection to the sensor. Mount the screws to hold the side impact sensor to the door, screw in tightly at 8 N.m (71 lb in). Seat the water deflector fully to door, re-install door trim panel and then make the SIR system enabled.
