  A: In order to replace the inflatable restraint SIS, first, turn off the SIR system. Take out the center pillar lower trim and loosen 2 fasteners on the inflatable restraint side collision sensor. You can remove the sensor very carefully from the center pillar, then you may release the connector position assurance (CPA) from the connector of the side impact sensor, and disconnect the connector. For installation, clean the mounting surface in order to remove all dirt grease and impurities. Connect the side impact sensor connector, and mount the CPA to it. Mount side impact sensor on the center pillar with the arrow on the sensor facing the vehicle's front end. Mount the fasteners to the side impact sensor and perform hand pressure tightening to the value of 10 N.m (89 lb in). Finally, replace the center pillar lower trim and the SIR system.
