  A: The first step to replace a front Parking Brake Cable (LHD) requires lifting the vehicle then finding suitable support. After returning the park brake pedal completely push down the front park brake cable until it releases tension. The front park brake cable must be extracted from the cable connector. The Parking Brake Cable release tool (J 37043) should be employed to take the park brake cable retainer off its support. The left closeout/sound insulator panel needs removal along with lowering the vehicle before reaching the lever assembly. You must remove the foot rest pad from the carpet followed by pulling back the carpet to view the park brake cable and lever assembly. Detach the grommet from the Floor Pan while also removing the two park brake pedal assembly attaching nuts (1, 2). The front park brake cable requires a careful disconnection from the park brake pedal assembly portion. First secure the front park brake cable into the park brake pedal assembly before attaching the park brake assembly to its mounting studs while mounting with park brake pedal assembly nuts (1, 2) which should be tightened to 24 nm (18 ft.
