  A: The first step to replace the left valve Rocker Arm requires removal of left camshafts where follower reinstallation order matters for the original positions. After extracting the Camshaft followers you must clean all the rocker arms and perform an inspection. Before installing new followers you should generously add lubricant material gm p/n 12345001 or equivalent to both the roller pivot pocket and the valve slot areas of the device. Placing the follower directly in front of the valve tip becomes essential to achieve complete roller coverage of the Camshaft lobe. The same followers need to return to their initial positions if they will be used once more. Place the Camshaft followers onto valve tips where their rounded heads should face the shla and flat ends should face the valve tips. Finally, install the left camshafts.
