Lbs.) and an additional 90-degree torque angle using the torque angle meter (J45059). Install the valve Rocker Arm cover(s) afterward finish the inspection of the valve train for any noisy signals.

The replacement of right valve Rocker Arm starts with right camshafts removal followed by following protocols for follower arrangement when reusing them in their correct positions. First clean all rocker arms while inspecting them before moving onto the following step. Reliable installation requires you to apply generous gm p/n 12345001 lubricant equivalent to both roller pivot pocket regions and valve slot parts of the Camshaft followers. Install the Camshaft followers first by putting them on the valve tip where the rounded head should touch the shla while the flat end faces the valve tip. Finally, install the right camshafts.

You must begin left valve Rocker Arm replacement by removing the left camshafts with each follower kept in its original position against its stationary hydraulic Lash Adjuster (SHLA) and native assembly spot. Leave the left Cylinder Head before cleaning and inspecting its rocker arms. During installation apply the specified lubricant from sealers adhesives and lubricants part number to the roller pivot pocket of each Camshaft follower as well as its valve slot area. To achieve proper valve tip contact with the Camshaft lobe it is essential that the follower sits directly on the valve tip. The followers need to be placed back in their original positions when doing a repeat usage. The next step involves placing the Camshaft followers on both valve tips and shla. The shla should have the rounded follower head and the flat end should be on the valve tip. Finish by fitting the left camshafts.

The right side valve Rocker Arm installation starts with right camshafts removal while retaining the original match between each Camshaft follower and its stationary hydraulic Lash Adjuster (SHLA) position. Secondly clean and inspect the rocker arms by removing the Camshaft followers from the right cylinder head. During installation apply large amounts of proper lubricant to both the follower's roller pivot pocket and valve slot areas by using specified lubricant part numbers. Place each follower directly onto the valve tip so its entire roller surface touches the Camshaft lobe and put used followers back to their previous positions. Install the Camshaft followers by placing them on the valve tip and shla yet placing the round side against the shla then the flat side on the valve tip. Finally, install the right camshafts.

Proper valve Rocker Arm and push rod replacement begins with removing the valve Rocker Arm cover while setting the components on a rack according to disassembly order for ease of reinstallation. You should first detach the Rocker Arm bolt before removing the Rocker Arm along with its Pushrod. The bearing surface of new rocker arms or Rocker Arm balls must receive a coat of camshaft assembly lube (GM P/N 1052365 or equivalent). Use compressed air to blow oil out of the tapped holes in the cylinder head.

Coat the ends of the pushrods with prelube before installing them.
