    Q:
How to replace the rear crankshaft seal on Chevrolet Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
You need to take out the transmission and Flywheel before installing the crankshaft rear oil seal. When removing the crankshaft rear oil seal using a flat-bladed tool users must ensure they do not damage the crankshaft outside diameter or chamber area. A new seal installation requires the use of rear main seal installer (J 42067). No matter what use the fastener notice for torque specifications. Then install the transmission by torquing the Flywheel bolts to 53 nm (39 ft.lbs.) and applying an extra 25 degrees of torque before reinstallation.

    Q:
How to replace the front crankshaft seal on GMC Terrain? Posted by Customer
    A:
Across all operations you should start your replacement of crankshaft front oil seals by taking out the crankshaft balancer. A flat-bladed tool should be used to pull the seal out from the front cover. The installation process requires the J 35268-A (Camshaft/Front Main Seal Installer) to mount the new crankshaft front oil seal properly into the engine front cover before reinstalling the crankshaft balancer.
