How to replace the rear crankshaft seal on 2005 Chevrolet Malibu?

To replace a crankshaft rear oil seal, first pull off the engine Flywheel. Be careful not to scratch the sealing surface of the crankshaft by removing the crankshaft rear oil seal. Turn the tool that has flat blade though the dust lip at an angle and pry out the seal by pulling the handle of the tool toward the end of the crankshaft while repeating process only and when needed. Note the direction of the new reverse style rear oil seal, which has this side out marked on it, before installation. Apply oil lubrication only on the threads of the oil seal installer, tighten to the specified for 30 nm, and do not 'dirty' the sealing lip after the protective sleeve is removed, to avoid breaking the sealing lip during mounting. Wipe the crankshaft sealing surface with a clean, lint-free towel and inspect for burrs or sharp edges and removing these using crocus cloth. Carefully remove the protective sleeve from new crankshaft rear oil seal, install it into seal installer (J34686) twisting (turn) will have it slip into the mandrel until it bottoms at the collar of the tool. Tighten the screws of the seal installer (J 34686) hand-tightened to the rear of the crankshaft in order to ensure square installation. Secure the wing nut on the seal installer (J 34686), tighten until it bottoms; remove tool and install the engine Flywheel.
