2007 Buick Lucerne Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the valve rocker arm and push rod on 2007 Buick Lucerne?
A: Service and maintenance of valve Rocker Arm and push rods requires the torque angle meter (J 45059) and other specific tools as a starting point. Boil off the valve Rocker Arm cover(s) and valve Rocker Arm bolt(s) and place the parts on a clean surface while keeping them in order for reassembly. The valve Rocker Arm guide plate must be removed if all rocker arms are getting replaced whereas the first step involves taking out the valve rocker arms(s) and the push rod(s). Use a suitable solution to clean push rods and valve rocker arms along with bolts and guide plates before making sure the valve Rocker Arm bolts have no thread adhesive remaining. After removing oil from the tapped holes in the cylinder head with compressed air blow the push rods should receive prelube application and be installed back in their original spots. Begin with installing the valve Rocker Arm guide plates followed by the valve Rocker Arm(s). Before you put in the Rocker Arm bolts you should apply threadlock to their threaded parts. Install the valve Rocker Arm cover(s) after tightening the bolts to 15 n.m (11 lb ft) with an additional 90 degrees measurement from the torque angle meter (J 45059). Check for noise during the valve train inspection.
