2007 Buick Lucerne Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the engine oil and oil filter on 2007 Buick Lucerne?
A: You must lift your car and provide support as the first task to change engine oil and Oil Filter. Set a drain pan that suits the job facing the Oil Pan Drain Plug then unscrew the plug to empty all the oil from the system. Check and cleanse the Drain Plug before replacing it when needed while performing a surface inspection of the Oil Pan and proceeding with a new pan installation when necessary. Secure the Drain Plug after cleaning its hole and avoiding excessive tightness. First arrange a drain pan under the Oil Filter and then remove the filter while keeping the gasket intact to the old filter or separate it from the adapter if required. The new Oil Filter gets engine oil applied to its gasket before installation by tightening it 3/4 to 1 full turn when the gasket reaches the adapter. The technician should tighten the Oil Pan Drain Plug to 30 n.m while also removing the drain pan which had been positioned underneath the vehicle prior to lowering it. Add new engine oil to the chamber then start the engine to scan for oil leakages. Perform the oil drain until the fluid returns to the pan while the ignition remains off. Reattach the oil level indicator on the specific tube ensuring its handle reaches the top of its interface. Clean and ready the indicator end before readjustment. Check the oil level after oil indicator removal by pouring or draining oil while keeping the indicator tip at the bottom. Perform oil leak checks last.
