First step to replace the left valve Rocker Arm involves removing the left camshafts after verifying the Camshaft followers match their original positions with stationary hydraulic lash adjusters (SHLAs). Clear all Camshaft followers from the left Cylinder Head and execute inspections of rocker arms as a next step. The roller pivot pocket together with the valve slot areas of the Camshaft followers require generous application of gm p/n 12345001 or equivalent lubricant. Place the follower directly on top of the valve tip to make sure the roller completely covers the Camshaft lobe before returning used followers to their previous positions. Complete installation of the left camshafts requires positioning the Camshaft followers correctly between the shla and valve tip by using the flat end of the follower for the valve tip and the rounded head for the shla.
