How to replace the valve rocker arm and push rods on Buick Rendezvous? Posted by Customer
    A:
The valve Rocker Arm replacement starts with removing both the valve Rocker Arm cover(s) and the valve Rocker Arm bolt(s) until the valve Rocker Arm(s) can be extracted. A rack should contain the valve train components exactly as they were removed because this preserves their installation arrangement. The yellow color of intake pushrods matches their 144.18 mm (5.68 inch) length while their corresponding exhaust pushrods appear green and reach 152.51 mm (6.0 inch) in length. Before removing the pushrods take necessary steps to avoid their entrance into the lifter valley before removing each Pushrod separately. Thorough cleaning accompanied by inspection should take place for all valve train components. Installation requires a return of pushrods together with valve rocker arms to their original positions; then install valve Rocker Arm covers.

    Q:
How to replace the left valve rocker arm on Cadillac SRX? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the left valve Rocker Arm requires removing left camshafts along with ensuring that every Camshaft follower stays in its original position with its corresponding stationary hydraulic Lash Adjuster (SHLAs). Move the left Cylinder Head Camshaft followers to clean and survey the rocker arms. The correct part number of adhesive serves to lubricate the valve slot together with the roller pivot pocket of Camshaft followers with an extensive amount during installation. The follower must be placed perfectly straight on the valve tip so that all areas of the roller touch the Camshaft lobe. The original places where followers were used should be their final location after possible reuse. Complete the left Camshaft installation by putting shla and the valve tip together through a combined placement of the Camshaft follower. Ensure the rounded head faces the shla while the flat end remains on the valve tip.

    Q:
How to replace the valve rocker arm and push rods on Chevrolet Equinox? Posted by Customer
    A:
A mechanic should start valve Rocker Arm and push rod replacement by removing all valve Rocker Arm covers. Start by removing the Rocker Arm bolts after which you can pull out the valve Rocker Arm(s) along with their pushrods. Apply gm prelube product gm p/n 1052367 (Canadian P/N 992869) or equivalent prelube solution to the ends of push rods before installation. The intake valve push rods measure 146.0 mm (5.75 in) in length whereas exhaust valve push rods stretch to 152.5 mm (6.0 in). On the original push rod locations place the rods before applying same prelube material on the Rocker Arm friction areas. The application of reconditioning work to Cylinder Head elements or their components will require shims beneath valve Rocker Arm pedestals. Putting the valve rocker arms back into their designated positions must be done by following fastener caution guidelines. Fasten the valve Rocker Arm bolts with 32 nm (24 lb ft) torque. Complete the operation by putting back the valve Rocker Arm covers.

    Q:
How to Service and Repair the Rocker Arm Assembly on Chevrolet Colorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
One must remove the camshaft cover before starting the valve Rocker Arm and valve Lash Adjuster replacement. When the Crankshaft reaches the open position of the affected cylinder valve ensure the cam lobe fully compresses the spring. The en-47945 valve spring compressor (EN-47945) needs installation on the engine Cylinder Head through either one or two of the supplied fasteners placed in the coil fastener hole but one fastener works in specific areas. Perform engine rotation to reach the base circle of the cam instead of using the tool while rotating the engine since Piston contact may damage the valves. When positioning the cam on its base circle the spring stays compressed to manage the valve Rocker Arm and valve Lash Adjuster removal. Perform cleaning along with inspection of both components before you conduct lubrication on the valve Rocker Arm while adding oil to the valve Lash Adjuster. Place the valve Rocker Arm along with the valve Lash Adjuster in position before turning the engine clock-wise until the spring reaches its complete depression by the cam lobe. Take out the en-47945 from the Cylinder Head then perform the process again if needed. Finally, install the camshaft cover.

    Q:
How to replace the right valve rocker arm on Cadillac STS? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the right valve Rocker Arm involves removing right camshafts while maintaining each Camshaft follower in its original stationary hydraulic Lash Adjuster (SHLA) location and matching. The cleaning process should begin on the right cylinder head with removal of all its Camshaft followers. Fill the roller pivot pocket along with valve slot regions of the Camshaft followers with gm p/n 12345001 or equivalent lubricant when performing the installation step. The follower must be placed straight against the valve tip to enable the entire roller surface to touch the Camshaft lobe but followers that are used again should maintain their original positions. The last step for assembly involves setting the Camshaft followers on the valve tip and the shla. Here the followers must face the valve tip with a round head on the shla while the flat end touches the valve tip before installing the right camshafts.

    Q:
How to service and repair the rocker arm assembly on Chevrolet Trailblazer? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step for repairing or servicing Rocker Arm assembly requires removing both the Camshaft cover and the exhaust and intake sprocket bolts. Insert the Camshaft sprocket holding tool j 44222 onto the Cylinder Head where horizontal bolts should be tightened to keep timing chain components stable. After removing the sprockets from the camshafts with their attached timing chains you should place the Camshaft caps in a rack for correct replacement later. The next step should be removal of Camshaft cap bolts and Camshaft caps along with the camshafts. Prepare value rocker arms together with valve lash adjusters for their proper reinstallation order. Before proceeding remove all valve rocker arms along with valve lash adjusters. Install the valve lash adjusters by first applying lubricating oil and then placing them in their original positions. Apply engine oil to the valve Rocker Arm roller before you put the valve rocker arms into their regular positions. The Camshaft journals require application of engine oil before reinstalling the camshafts into their original positions. Tighten the Camshaft cap bolts until they reach 12 nm (106 inch lbs.). Use caution to reinstall Camshaft sprockets onto the camshafts while removing the Camshaft sprocket holding tool (J 44222). Start by installing the intake Camshaft sprocket washer together with bolt and exhaust Camshaft actuator bolt. Tighten the intake Camshaft sprocket bolt to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.) for the initial application before finishing it with a 100 degree torque using the torque angle meter (J 36660-A). The torque wrench must first tighten the exhaust Camshaft actuator bolt to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) on the initial rotation while subsequent tightening adds 135° of angle by torque angle meter (J 36660-A). Finally, install the Camshaft cover.

    Q:
How to replace the valve rocker arm and valve lash adjuster on GMC Envoy? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step when replacing a valve Rocker Arm and valve Lash Adjuster is to remove the camshaft cover. To perform the replacement drop the Crankshaft until the associated cylinder valve reaches its full opening position while maintaining complete cam lobe spring depression. Use either one or two supplied fasteners through the en-47945 valve spring compressor into the coil fastener hole to secure the device when setting up compression on a Cylinder Head engine. Not every location requires two fasteners except for specific placements. The risk of damaging valves exists when operating the engine while this tool remains installed. A clockwise engine rotation can position the cam on its base circle so the tool compresses the spring enough for removing the Lash Adjuster and rocker. After removing the valve Rocker Arm with the valve Lash Adjuster you should clean both components for inspection. Reinstall the valve Rocker Arm after applying oil to it while also filling the valve Lash Adjuster with oil. The engine should be counterclockwise rotated at a slow pace until the spring experiences a full depression from the cam lobe before removing the en-47945 valve spring compressor (EN-47945) from the Cylinder Head. Finally, install the camshaft cover.
