• Q: How to replace the Ignition Coil(s) for Bank 1 on 2004 Cadillac SRX?

  A: Begin by turning off the ignition before removing the engine cover maintaining fuel pipe and hose connections intact. When replacing Ignition Coil(s) for cylinder 1 or 3, perform Intake Manifold repositioning by first disconnecting air cleaner duct sections from Throttle Body links and positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose segments from right bank camshaft cover areas. Keep upper Intake Manifold components attached to lower Intake Manifold structures during this process. After unbolting the Intake Manifold bolts, the Intake Manifold brace bolts (1 and 2) and releasing the brace, users can strategically relocate the upper Intake Manifold to the lower Intake Manifold to achieve sufficient clearance for Ignition Coil removal. After disconnecting Ignition Coil electrical connectors you should remove Ignition Coil bolts and Ignition Coil units. Put Ignition Coil(s) in their proper location and install Ignition Coil bolt(s) while tightening them to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Reconnect all Ignition Coil electrical connector(s). After finishing reinstall the Intake Manifold and replace the engine cover.
