• Q: How to replace the ignition coil for Bank 2 on 2005 Cadillac SRX?

  A: Begin the Ignition Coil replacement process on bank 2 by turning the ignition off before removing the engine cover without unfastening the lower from the upper Intake Manifold connection points. When replacing the Ignition Coil for cylinder 2 the technician must disconnect the air cleaner duct from the Throttle Body along with the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the right bank camshaft cover prior to removing the Intake Manifold bolts that don't require fuel pipe or hose detachment. To access the Ignition Coil for replacement you must first remove the Intake Manifold brace bolts (1 and 2) and the brace then move the upper Intake Manifold properly next to the lower Intake Manifold. Disconnect each Ignition Coil electrical connector followed by removing its bolt to extract the coil from the system. Place the Ignition Coil(s) in position after securing them with tightened Ignition Coil bolt(s) to 10 n.m (89 lb in), reconnect the Ignition Coil electrical connector(s) and finally reinstall the upper Intake Manifold if needed.
