The procedure for replacing ignition coils in cylinders 1 or 3 requires removing the air cleaner duct from the Throttle Body together with the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the right bank camshaft cover but must stop short of separating the upper Intake Manifold from the lower Intake Manifold. The first step includes removing Intake Manifold bolts and the Intake Manifold brace bolts (1 and 2) and the brace before repositioning the upper Intake Manifold with the lower Intake Manifold while creating sufficient space for Ignition Coil removal. Start by disconnecting the electrical connectors from the Ignition Coil then unscrewing the bolts to remove the ignition coils entirely. To reinstall the ignition coils reattach them properly while tightening each bolt with 10 n.m (89 lb in) torque before connecting the electrical connectors.
