Ignition Coil

Replacing the ignition coil for the Bank 2 requires, firstly, the removal of the fuel injector sight shield, first. Then, unplug the engine wiring harness electrical connector(s) from the ignition coil(s) and unscrew the ignition coil bolt(s) before removing it. For installation, start by reinstalling the ignition coil(s) to place, remembering to hold the Fastener Notice. Then, install ignition coil bolt(s) and tighten them to 10 N.m (89 lb in). Then reconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector(s), to the ignition coil(s) and lastly, install the fuel injector sight shield.

The ignition coil replacement process for Bank 1 requires removal of the underhood bussed electrical center plus detachment of the body wiring harness and engine wiring harness electrical connection clip at the UBEC bracket. Perform these steps to remove the bracket: unscrew the bolt and nuts and then detach the bracket while setting it aside. Begin by disconnecting the engine wiring harness electrical connector(s) from the ignition coil(s) . Then remove ignition coil bolt(s) before taking out the ignition coil(s). To install the ignition coils position them first then adhere to the Fastener Notice instructions. Put the ignition coil bolt(s) under 10 N.m (89 lb in) torque before restoring the engine wiring harness electrical connector(s) to the ignition coil(s) . Use the provided UBEC bracket bolt and nuts to install the bracket at a torque of 10 N.m (89 lb in). Complete the installation by connecting the body wiring harness / engine wiring harness electrical connection clip to the UBEC bracket. Also reinstall the USB-powered external battery (UBEC) afterward.

Before replacing the Ignition Coil for bank 2 (LY7) vin 7 without direct fuel injection and bank 2 (LP1, LY7) start by turning the ignition off then remove the engine cover without disconnecting any fuel pipes or hoses. To replace the Ignition Coil for cylinder 2 the Intake Manifold requires removal by first disconnecting the air cleaner duct from the Throttle Body and the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the right bank camshaft cover while avoiding separation of upper and lower Intake Manifold components. Before proceeding with Ignition Coil removal you must remove the Intake Manifold bolts and the Intake Manifold brace bolts (1 and 2) then detach the brace before repositioning the upper Intake Manifold next to the lower Intake Manifold to achieve sufficient clearance. Begin by disconnecting Ignition Coil electrical connectors and next remove Ignition Coil bolts before taking out ignition coils. After installing the Ignition Coil(s) you must properly position each unit before tightening the Ignition Coil bolt(s) to 10 n.m (89 lb in) and reconnecting the electrical connector(s). The installation of an upper Intake Manifold becomes necessary.

The Ignition Coil replacement procedure for bank 1 begins with turning off the ignition while keeping engine cover in position without interrupting fuel pipes or hoses. The procedure for replacing ignition coils in cylinders 1 or 3 requires removing the air cleaner duct from the Throttle Body together with the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the right bank camshaft cover but must stop short of separating the upper Intake Manifold from the lower Intake Manifold. The first step includes removing Intake Manifold bolts and the Intake Manifold brace bolts (1 and 2) and the brace before repositioning the upper Intake Manifold with the lower Intake Manifold while creating sufficient space for Ignition Coil removal. Start by disconnecting the electrical connectors from the Ignition Coil then unscrewing the bolts to remove the ignition coils entirely. To reinstall the ignition coils reattach them properly while tightening each bolt with 10 n.m (89 lb in) torque before connecting the electrical connectors. Reinstall the Intake Manifold before replacing the engine cover.

First disconnect the negative Battery Cable before starting the Ignition Coil/control module replacement procedure. The first step is to remove the injector sight shield followed by disconnecting Spark Plug Wires and recording their positions. First disconnect all the electrical connectors from the Ignition Coil/control module before using a torque wrench to remove the four bolts which hold it to the bracket. Finally extract the Ignition Coil/control module. To mount the component, set the Ignition Coil/control module onto the ignition control module bracket then screw in the 4 bolts using 4.5 nm (40 lb in) torque specs. Connect all Ignition Coil/control module electrical connectors along with Spark Plug Wires after reattaching the injector sight shield and the negative Battery Cable.

To exchange the ignition coil for Bank 1, finisher the engine wiring harness electric associate(s) from the ignition coil(s). Then, extract the fuel injection sight shield, ignition coil bolt(s), and ignition coil(s). For installation, you will place the ignition coil(s) back into place, and follow fastener caution to prevent damage to vehicle. Then, replace the ignition coil bolt(s) as well as tighten them to 10 Nm (89 lb in). At last, reconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector(s) to the ignition coil(s) and reinstall the fuel sight shield.

Begin by removing the upper Intake Manifold before changing the Ignition Coil for bank 1. Remove the electrical connector(s) from the Ignition Coil (4), unscrew the Ignition Coil bolt and take out both the Ignition Coil. Insert the Ignition Coil(s) securely, installing and tightening the Ignition Coil bolt(s) to 10 n.m (89 lb. In.). Attach the engine wiring harness electrical connector(s) (1) onto the Ignition Coil(s) (4) and put back the upper Intake Manifold.

Bank 2 ignition coil replacement begins by removing the fuel injector sight shield. Start by removing the ignition coil bolts from the coil while disconnecting the engine wiring harness electrical connector(s) attached to each ignition coil. Installation begins by positioning ignition coils correctly then tightening bolt(s) of ignition coils to 10 N.m torque (89 lb in. torque). The fuel injector sight shield should be placed back before connecting the engine wiring harness electrical connector(s) to the ignition coil(s) and reattaching the sight shield.

Start by removing the cover from the intake manifold before replacing an Ignition Coil. Preparation starts by disconnecting the engine wiring harness electrical connectors from the Ignition Coil(s) and removing Ignition Coil bolt(s) to allow Ignition Coil(s) removal. Install the Ignition Coil(s) according to safe fastener procedures after position placement. Insert the engine wiring harness electrical connectors back to the Ignition Coil(s). After this, install the Ignition Coil bolt(s) using a torques setting of 10 nm (89 lb in). Reinstall the intake manifold cover.

Reconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector(s) to the ignition coil(s) and then reinstall the fuel injection sight shield.

Place the ignition coil(s) back in position and tighten the ignition coil bolt(s) to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

Remove and reposition the intake manifold by disconnecting the air cleaner duct from the throttle body and the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the right bank camshaft cover, ensuring not to separate the upper intake manifold from the lower intake manifold.

Place the ignition coil(s) back in, ensuring to follow the Fastener Notice, then install the ignition coil bolt(s) and tighten them to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Reconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector(s) to the ignition coil(s).

Install the ignition coil and then the ignition coil retaining bolt, tightening it to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Remove the ignition coil bolt(s) before taking out the ignition coil(s).

Reposition the upper intake manifold with the lower intake manifold.

Remove and reposition the intake manifold by disconnecting the air cleaner duct from the throttle body and the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the right bank camshaft cover, ensuring not to separate the upper intake manifold from the lower intake manifold.

Remove the intake manifold bolts, the intake manifold brace bolts (1 and 2), and the brace.

Remove the 4 bolts securing the ignition coil/control module to the ignition control module bracket and take out the ignition coil/control module.

Remove the ignition coil bolt(s) and take out the ignition coil(s).

Remove the ignition coil bolt(s) before taking out the ignition coil(s).

Reinstall the intake manifold.

Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector(s) from the ignition coil(s) and remove the ignition coil bolt(s).
